I have been looking for a mobile wallet and there are some apps that come up frequently in discussions such as Electrum. Something I find weird is that if you look up in google the first result takes you to this site which recommends bitcoin-wallet as the best one.If you look up bitcoin wallet in the playstore that app is also the first result. But I couldn't find a single reference here or in other sites listing good mobile wallets. What am I missing?
Is there a way to get the private keys/seed from "Bitcoin Wallet" android app?
Question as stated in the title. Left btc in there for the fork like an idiot. Really would like to know if it's possible to get the seed from this app... I can backup the wallet... could I load it into another app potentially that can see the seed? Thanks!
I have the Bitcoin Wallet app by Bitcoin Wallet Developers installed on my android device. I had my bitcoin balance in there when bitcoin cash was generated. Does anyone have a good guide explaining how to grab that bitcoin cash balance? I haven't been able to find anything useful. Thanks
Bitcoin Wallet Android App: restoring not possible
I was using https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.schildbach.wallet&hl=de last year and bought some BTC. I have saved the wallet into my Dropbox. Now I got a new phone and tried to restore the wallet. 1. I have copied the file into /downloads 2. I go to the restore menu but it cannot find any wallet data Any help with this?
Sorry, if was already discussed, but what is going to happen to Bitcoin Wallet? Is it safe to keep it like this or should I move to a full desktop wallet? It does have a backup feature, not sure if it's possible to extract the private key, tho. Thank you. EDIT: I should have mentioned, by "safe" I mean in the context of the upcoming fork. In case of split, will I have control over my coins on the both chains?
How to export priv keys from "schibald bitcoin wallet" (android)?
I wonder if anyone has had success exporting private keys from "bitcoin wallet" app on android. The only export function asks for an encryption password, but what format is it encrypted in? What 3rd party tool can I use to decrypt it and see the plain text priv keys? I want to dump certain other currencies and exchange them for a bit more btc.
I'm worried about my Bitcoin Wallet (android app) backup
Okay so I've been using Bitcoin Wallet (android app) since forever and occasionally I do an encrypted backup to Google Drive using the in-app feature. As far as I'm aware this archives + encrypts my private key and uploads it. I'm kind of comfortable with the technical details but I keep seeing people recommend Mycelium and "if you don't know the 12 words you don't own your coins". Now that I'm investing fairly regularly I need to make sure I can recover everything if my phone goes missing. Am I okay with Bitcoin Wallet or should I move to something else? Is there a preference for a 12 word paper wallet vs electronic storage?
Claiming Bitcoin Cash from a "Bitcoin Wallet" android wallet
I've scoured for a bunch of tutorials on how to claim from this old wallet. They are currently on the wallet and I also have the wallet.dat file backed up as well. Am i supposed to extract my private keys from the wallet.dat file and then transfer them over into another wallet? Any and all input very appreciated.
